The test scores expected by highly selective universities have increased substantially over the past decade or so. At the University of California-Berkeley, 25th-percentile SAT scores for first-year students were 580 critical reading, 620 math, and 590 writing in during the 2004-05 academic year (this means that 75% of the class received higher scores). In 2016-17, these 25th-percentile scores had shot up to 620 critical reading, 680 math, and 630 writing, a respective increase of 40, 60, and 40 points. About 31% of Berkeley students who began their undergraduate degree programs in 2004-05 scored 700 or higher on SAT critical reading, 46% were at or above 700 in math, and 33% met or exceeded 700 in writing. As of 2016-17, the sectional benchmark of 700 was achieved by more than 47% of new students in critical reading, over 60% in math, and slightly above 54% in writing. Top schools have higher SAT standards than ever before, and students who wish to submit competitive applications must not forego comprehensive test preparation.

Elite university acceptance is common among Manhattan Review's students in Istanbul and other cities. Our SAT clients have gained admission to a large number of highly selective institutions, including Princeton, Harvard, Yale, Brown, Columbia, the California Institute of Technology, the University of Pennsylvania, Stanford, the University of Chicago, Dartmouth, Cornell, the University of California-Berkeley, Northwestern, the University of Virginia, Georgetown, Emory, Duke, Vanderbilt, Georgia Tech, Carnegie Mellon, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Johns Hopkins, Williams College, Swarthmore, Tufts, and many more. Our SAT students are regularly hired by Fortune 500 companies upon completion of their degree programs (Enterprise Products Partners, Twenty-First Century Fox, New York Life Insurance, United Technologies, and Exxon Mobil, to name just a few). Istanbul firms, such as VakifBank, Turkish Airlines, STFA Group, Kalyon Group, and Limak Holding, have also hired former Manhattan Review students.
